BACKGROUND INFO
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

This script implements the Transgender Affect Misattribution Procedure (Transgender AMP) by Kanamori et al (2020),
The Transgender AMP is a priming procedure using supraliminal primes to assess implicit attitudes towards transgender.
The rationale of the AMP is that people, despite instructions to the contrary, cannot ignore (supraliminal)
primes and will automatically attribute their attitudes towards the prime (category) to stimuli presented after.

TASK DESCRIPTION
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Participants see brief flashes of English words followed by Chinese characters and are asked to
judge the pleasantness of each Chinese character on 4-point Likert scale.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
DURATION
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
the default set-up of the script takes appr. 5 minutes to complete

___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
DATA OUTPUT DICTIONARY
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The fields in the data files are:

(1) Raw data file: 'amp_raw*.iqdat' (a separate file for each participant)

build: The specific Inquisit version used (the 'build') that was run
computer.platform: the platform the script was run on (win/mac/ios/android)
date, time: date and time script was run
subject, group: with the current subject/groupnumber
session: with the current session id

blockCode, blockNum: the name and number of the current block (built-in Inquisit variable)
trialCode, trialNum: the name and number of the currently recorded trial (built-in Inquisit variable)
										Note: trialNum is a built-in Inquisit variable; it counts all trials run; even those
										that do not store data to the data file such as feedback trials. Thus, trialNum
										may not reflect the number of main trials run per block.

blockCounter: blockCounter (each block runs 10 trials)
trialCounterPerBlock:				trialCounter per block

prime: the currently presented prime word
primeIndex: stores the itemnumber of the current prime stimulus
target: the currently presented Chinese character
targetIndex: stores the itemnumber of the current target stimulus

response: scancode of the response button pressed (Note: scancode of the number button is not equal to the selected number)
responseText: the actual number button pressed: 3,4,7,8 (pressed key)

rating: the reverse coded response on a scale from 1 (pleasant) - 4 (unpleasant) (see Kanamori et al, 2020)
									'3' -> rating of 4
									'4' -> rating of 3
									'7' -> rating of 2
									'8' -> rating of 1

latency: response latency (in ms); in this script: measured from onset of chinese character

(2) Summary data file: 'amp_summary*.iqdat' (a separate file for each participant)

inquisit.version:				Inquisit version run
computer.platform: the platform the script was run on (win/mac/ios/android)
startDate:						date script was run
startTime:						time script was started
subjectId:						assigned subject id number
groupId:						assigned group id number
sessionId:						assigned session id number
elapsedTime: time it took to run script (in ms); measured from onset to offset of script
completed:						0 = script was not completed (prematurely aborted);
								1 = script was completed (all conditions run)

//////////////
ratings:
rating on a scale from 1 (pleasant) - 4 (unpleasant) -> see Kanamori et al, 2020 for more info
=> higher scores indicate greater prejudice
/////////////

meanRatingPrimeA: mean rating for primeA (transgender prime words)
meanRTPrimeA: mean rating response time (in ms) for primeA

meanRatingPrimeB: mean rating for primeB (neutral prime words)
meanRTPrimeB: mean rating response time (in ms) for primeB

EXPERIMENTAL SET-UP
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

* 1 Demo Trial (with prime and target not used during test)
* 10 Test blocks of 10 trials randomly selecting from primeA (transgender words)/primeB (neutral words)
(Note: the 100 test trials are run by one block but a blockcounter keeps track of the blocks.
Prime Stimuli are reset after each of these blocks, so each prime is run 10 times)
* all 100 targets are run once in random order

	Trials:
	* prime is presented for 100ms
	* prime is replaced by a blank stimulus for 100ms
	* the target is presented for 100ms and then covered up by a mask until response is made
	* no iti
