TASK DESCRIPTION

Subtest1: Identity Discrimination

Participants are presented with 2 faces of either the same actor or different actors.
They have to decide whether the faces are of the same person of whether the faces are of different people.
Participants work through 12 trials.
(Note: faces of the same people are always the exact same image)

DURATION
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
the default set-up of the script takes appr. 2 minutes to complete

The fields in the data files are:

(1) Raw data file: 'catsr_subtest1_polish_raw*.iqdat' (a separate file for each participant)*

build: The specific Inquisit version used (the 'build') that was run
computer.platform: the platform the script was run on (win/mac/ios/android)
date, time: date and time script was run
subject, group: with the current subject/groupnumber
session: with the current session id

subTest: "subtest1"

//if the subtest is run via a batch script that collects gender/age/taskOrder information:
age: the age of the participant
gender: Female; Male; Other
taskOrder: the selected task order

blockCode, blockNum: the name and number of the current block (built-in Inquisit variable)
trialCode, trialNum: the name and number of the currently recorded trial (built-in Inquisit variable)
Note: trialNum is a built-in Inquisit variable; it counts all trials run; even those
that do not store data to the data file.

trialCount: trial counter
subTest1TestItem: the index of the selected image
testItem: the presented image

correctResponse: the dedicated correct response:
									1 = same
									2 = different

selectedResponse: 'same' or 'different'

correct: accuracy of response: 1 = correct response; 0 = otherwise
rt: cumulative response latency: measured from onset of image until 'nextButton' is pressed

(2) Summary data file: 'catsr_subtest1_polish_summary*.iqdat' (a separate file for each participant)*

inquisit.version: Inquisit version run
computer.platform: the platform the script was run on (win/mac/ios/android)
startDate: date script was run
startTime: time script was started
subjectId: assigned subject id number
groupId: assigned group id number
sessionId: assigned session id number
elapsedTime: time it took to run script (in ms); measured from onset to offset of script
completed:							0 = script was not completed (prematurely aborted);
1 = script was completed (all conditions run)

subTest: "subtest1"

//if the subtest is run via a batch script that collects gender/age/taskOrder information:
age: the age of the participant
gender: Female; Male; Other
taskOrder: the selected task order

t1RawScore: the number of correct responses in subtest2
t1RawScoreCorrected: the number of correct responses in subtest2, corrected
(Note: in this subtest raw scores do not get corrected for gender)

t1ZScore: the z-score for the corrected T1_rawscore
(Note: in this script the overall mean and standard deviation are used)

t1PropCorrect: proportion correct responses in subtest1
t1RT: mean response time (in ms) in subtest1; measured from onset of image until 'nextButton' is pressed
t1CorrRT: mean response time (in ms) of CORRECT responses in subtest2; measured from onset of image until 'nextButton' is pressed

+ results from individual questions

* separate data files: to change to one data file for all participants (on Inquisit Lab only), go to section
"DATA" and follow further instructions

EXPERIMENTAL SET-UP
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

1 Testblock of 12 trials
- 6 trials with identical faces
- 6 trials different faces
The order of the images is predetermined.

Participants can select button 'same' or 'different'. Responses can be changed until 'next' is pressed.
If button 'repeat' is pressed, nothing happens in this script as the images are still on screen.

Note: By setting parameters.showadvanceButton to true, a '?'-button appears in the upper right corner.
If pressed, the next scheduled test item is skipped.
