A description of the SPTSS can be found in: Carlson, E.B. (2001).Psychometric Study of a Brief Screen for PTSD:Assessing the Impact of Multiple Traumatic Events. Assessment, 8, 431-441. A paper version of the SPTSS (version 3.0) was retrieved from: Carlson. (2012) . The Screen for Posttraumatic Stress Symptoms (SPTSS) . Measurement Instrument Database for the Social Science. Retrieved from www.midss.ie Version 3.0 differs from Version 2.0 in the time frame to consider (version 2.0: last 2 weeks; version 3.0: last week only) ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ OVERVIEW ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Participants are asked to answer 17 radioButtons questions pertaining PTSD symptoms within the last 2 weeks by choosing a number from 0 - 4 for each question. The questionnaire adapts the layout of the paper and pencil questionnaire to the computer screen. The 17 questions are spread out over 4 survey pages. Each page repeats the instructions and participants can go back and forth between pages. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ DURATION ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ the default set-up of the script takes appr. 3 minutes to complete ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ DATA OUTPUT DICTIONARY ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The fields in the data files are: (1) Raw data file: 'sptss_3_0.iqdat' date, time: date and time script was run with the current group/subjectnumber subject, group, session: with the current subject/groupnumber/session id build: the Inquisit build q*_response: response given (in assigned values) Scale: 0 (not at all) - 4 (more than once every day) no reversed scored questions q*_latency: how much time (in ms) the participant spent on the surveyPage with this particular question (the last time this particular surveyPage was visit (2) Summary data file: 'sptss_3_0_summary*.iqdat' (a separate file for each participant) inquisit.version: Inquisit version run computer.platform: the platform the script was run on (win/mac/ios/android) startDate: date script was run startTime: time script was started subjectId: assigned subject id number groupId: assigned group id number sessionId: assigned session id number elapsedTime: time it took to run script (in ms); measured from onset to offset of script completed: 0 = script was not completed (prematurely aborted); 1 = script was completed (all conditions run) totalScore: the sum of all individual scores sptssScore: the average score ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ INSTRUCTIONS ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Instructions can easily be edited under EDITABLE CODE -> Editable Parameters ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ EDITABLE CODE ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ check below for (relatively) easily editable parameters, stimuli, instructions etc. Keep in mind that you can use this script as a template and therefore always "mess" with the entire code to further customize your experiment.
